Outcomes Engineering
Business value is the goal, planning makes it feasible, management makes it achievable, metrics make it tangible.
Adoption
Start with the user – what’s their role, what do they know & how fast do they learn? Then drive awareness, build confidence and achieve personal benefits.
Process Change
Technology does not transform organizations. It only makes it possible and scalable. Business process change transforms organizations. Success is dependent on helping your people change how they work
Sustainability
Assento has, since inception, aimed to keep our environmental impact low. For instance, we have no offices and everyone works remotely. Our employees reduce or eliminate the use of heating in winter by dressing warmly. Assento is committed to reducing GHG emissions by 75% by 2030 compared to Fiscal 2020 (2019 CDP disclosure) and reaching net zero by 2040.
Assento has zero Scope 1 or Scope 2 emissions. Measured using the GHG (Greenhouse Gas Protocol) our FY20 and FY23 Scope 3 emissions were:
| Scope 3 Emissions (tCO2e) | FY2020 | FY2022 |
| Purchased goods and services | 17.49 | 7.69 |
| Capital goods | 0.37 | 0.00 |
| Business Travel | 9.25 | 0.86 |
| Virtual commute | 0.65 | 0.78 |
| Total | 27.77 | 9.33 |
CSR
We strive to ensure that we make a genuine difference to our country and people through our approach to ownership, employment and development.
Assento has 4 full-time employees, strong training and enablement values and an authentic empowerment approach. If we exclude the remaining founder of Assento then all three of our current full-time employees are African youth (two women) who were unemployed at the time of hiring. Our leaders spend a meaningful amount of their time teaching, coaching, assisting and enabling our team.
Other initiatives include:
- working with the Hope School to provide IT infrastructure for disabled learners
- assisting with funding for the Technology Hub of the Amathuba Collective
- providing five youth with employment opportunities in the YES for Youth programme
Our Future Partner Growth Trust allows nominated African employees to share in the growth and success of Assento and accelerate their managerial development.
We are proud that we have benefited our youth by creating meaningful jobs and career development.
About us
We believe there is a chasm between the business outcomes organisations require and the services delivered by the technology industry at large. We were founded to bridge this gap.
Organisations only get value from an investment in a collaborative solution if it is widely adopted and used optimally. We have observed over many years that achieving this is complex and hard, especially inside large organisations. It requires careful attention and sound execution across the technical, process and people dimensions.
Our mantra is Working Better Together.
How to Measure Hybrid Productivity While Ensuring Employee Well-being
Remote work has evolved from a tech office perk to a necessity for many organisations. The COVID- 19 pandemic has permanently changed the expectations of how and where people work. Many organisations have already begun to shift to a hybrid or fully remote work model...
